Community News

Serving in Vanuatu

For the last 13 years Plenty Valley Christian College has been serving the community of Port Vila and the Victory School of Hope started by Victory Church in Blacksands.

This year a small group of Year 10 students are preparing to go again, only this year they are going into town that has been ravaged by earthquakes.

In December 2024, a 7.3 magnitude earthquake struck near Vanuatu's capital Port Vila, triggering landslides, crushing cars and flattening multiple buildings. Prone to Earthquakes, this area is no stranger to what it means to be build upon firm foundations and their resilience is a remarkable testimony for our students to witness and a great opportunity for us to give back.

We are thankful for the opportunity to raise funds as a community that will go directly to help the hands on the ground to rebuild what has been broken.

" Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. "

 1 Peter 4:10- 11 NIV

Alumni Event Success!

We love celebrating and building community at PVCC. Recently, we reminisced and reconnected with our 2005, 2015 and 2020 Alumni. We gathered and "broke bread" together in our Staffroom Hub. We were blessed with a bounty of delicious food and barista coffee supplied by B. Food Designs Catering.

The afternoon ended in a tour of old classrooms and new spaces with our visitors keen to stay on an reminisce together long after the event ended!  Thank you to all staff and Alumni who made this event such a success.

Get ready - classes of 2006 and 2016 and 2021 we are looking forward to your reunions next year!

Winter Recitals sing for joy

Clap your hands, all peoples! Shout to God with loud songs of joy!" Psalm 47 was lived out at the Eltham Community Reception Centre for our Winter Music Recitals.

The joy in the Lord was evident through the songs of praise and incredible musical gifts displayed by the students. Seeing students build on a gift that God has given them brings joy to every parents, and music instructors hearts, but even more so it brings glory to God. Our music team here at PVCC is growing exponentially and we are loving seeing the talent that God has put in the people here.

A huge thanks to the Music team, instructors, coordinators who put this event together. Eltham Community and Reception Centre is such a beautiful venue to showcase our students amidst the mudbricks and the gum trees of Eltham. Thank you for having us once again.

Enrol Your Child at PVCC or Plenty Kids for 2027

If you have a child who is not yet enrolled at the College and is due to start in 2027, please ensure you apply for enrolment by July 31, 2025. To apply, please visit the Plenty Valley Christian College website and follow the instructions for the online application process.

For students who are already attending or enrolled to attend the College, new application forms are not required. Please note that if your child is enrolled at Plenty Kids Early Learning Centre, you do not need to submit an application for Prep. We will reach out to you by the end of Term 2, when your child is in 4-year-old kinder, about transitioning to Prep at PVCC.

Please share this information with friends and family who may be interested in joining us at Plenty Valley Christian College. I've attached the Key Dates for Enrolment in 2027, which you can share with others.

Applying by the due date is an important step in securing a place for your child at Plenty Valley Christian College or Plenty Kids Early Learning Centre, even if you have other children already attending the College. While the College prioritises applications from current families, late applications may not always be accommodated. We encourage you to apply by the due date to give your child the best chance of receiving a spot.

If you require assistance with enrolment, please do not hesitate to contact our Registrar Margaret at 9717 7400 or margaret.vella@pvcc.vic.edu.au.
