Dear Families,
On Friday we came together as a whole school community to celebrate the Feast of Our Lady Help of Christians with a beautiful Whole School Mass. I would like to sincerely congratulate our students on the outstanding way they conducted themselves throughout the celebration. Their reverence, respect and excellent behaviour were noticed by many and made us incredibly proud as a school community. A very big thank you to Fr DJ for leading such a meaningful Mass for our community and also to Mrs Lou Frewen for the tremendous work she puts into coordinating and supporting our school liturgies and Masses throughout the year.

St John’s Master Plan Survey – Let's hear from YOU!
We are currently looking at how our school is anticipated to grow over the next few years and are reviewing our Masterplan with fresh eyes alongside ROAM Architects. We value our community’s input and have created a short questionnaire for families to complete. We would greatly appreciate you taking a few minutes to provide your feedback as we begin shaping the future direction of St John’s together. The questionnaire should only take approximately 5–10 minutes to complete and can be done as a family or individually if you wish. Please click the following link to start the questionnaire. Have fun!

Whole School Focus “Hands Off
Over the coming weeks, we will be reinforcing a clear whole-school focus around the message of “Hands Off” to support student safety, respectful relationships and positive behaviour across our school. Students will be reminded that physical behaviours such as pushing, play fighting, tackling, grabbing or unwanted touching are not acceptable at school, even when intended as “just playing around”. Our goal is to help all students understand safe boundaries, respectful interactions and positive ways to solve problems while ensuring everyone feels safe, calm and included at St John’s. We greatly appreciate the support of families in reinforcing this message at home.

Best wishes for Mr Tunks!
As we move toward the end of Week 6, we would like to wish Mr Jake Tunks and his wife Bella all the very best as they prepare to welcome the arrival of their baby boy. This is such an exciting and special time for their family and we know our whole St John’s community joins together in wishing them a safe, happy and healthy arrival. Jake will begin his leave at the end of this week and we thank him for his wonderful work and dedication to our Year 6 students throughout the semester so far.
While Jake is away for the remainder of Term 2, we warmly welcome Mrs Trudy Kerlin, who will be stepping into the role as the Year 6 Classroom Teacher (Trudy is also my Aunty!). Trudy brings with her a wealth of experience and care and we are very grateful to have her supporting our students during this time.

Updated Uniform Policy - 2026
Please note that our St John’s School Uniform Policy (please see attachment below) has now been updated and will be uploaded to our school website in coming days. There are two important reminders we would like families to be aware of moving forward:
Green school socks can be purchased through our online uniform supplier here: https://www.spartanschoolworld.com.au/collections/st-johns-euroa-primary-school
We appreciate families continuing to support our school standards and helping students wear the St John’s uniform with pride.

Smartwatches at School
St John’s School does not permit students to wear or access smartwatches during the school day. Even when placed on “School Mode or School Time”, smartwatches function similarly to mobile phones and can cause distractions, interruptions to learning and issues around communication and privacy. If a student needs to bring a smartwatch to school, it is expected that the device is handed into the office with Bek upon arrival each morning and collected again at the end of the school day, in the same way as mobile phones. We appreciate families supporting us in maintaining a focused, calm and distraction-free learning environment for all students.
Thank you as always for your ongoing support of our wonderful school community. I hope all families have a wonderful remainder of the week.
Take care,
Sam
