Captain's Corner

As we move through 2025, the Gazette team are eager to profile some of our student leaders- Continuing in this edition with Ellie Westerveld.

Hello! My name is Ellie, and I am the science prefect for this year. 

You can probably tell from my role but one of my biggest interests is science, biology in particular, and after school I would love to pursue a career in natural science in areas like ecosystem studies. Aside from school, I love playing and being involved in tennis as an umpire. This year I’m looking forward to navigating my first year of VCE with my friends and getting to know my peers in the leadership team better. 

One piece of advice I would give to young students is to give everything a go, experiment with your interests and subjects and choose to do what you really enjoy, to ensure your classes are the best they can be.
