🗻Cradle Mountain National Park🗻

"Let the rivers clap their hands, let the mountains sing together for joy" (Psalm 98:8-9) 

The Outdoor Leadership class ventured to the glorious Cradle Mountain National Park for a hiking expedition a few weeks ago. Students worked incredibly well together and encourage each other up to Marion's lookout. The class then pushed onto the historic Kitchen Hut and then down to Dove Lake via the Face Track. It was a powerful reminder of God's wonderous creation. Well done to all students involved for their exemplary conduct and following of the Leave No Trace Principles.

Cosy Clothes Day

Students and staff arrived in their cosiest clothes, bringing plenty of warmth, colour and smiles to our campus. The day began with a delicious Breakfast Club, and to make the day even more special, everyone enjoyed a comforting cup of hot chocolate, the perfect treat on a cool winter’s day! ☕🍫❄️

We finished the week with Primary ssembly, celebrating the incredible learning, achievements, growth and acts of kindness that have taken place throughout the term. It was wonderful to reflect on all that God has done in our school community and to recognise the many students who have worked hard, shown resilience and demonstrated our school values. 

2026 Sunny Hugo Camel Cup 

In Term 2 of 2026, we held our 2nd Sunny Hugo Camel Cup, in honour of World Camel Day, and Mr West’s favourite animal. World Camel Day is celebrated around the globe on 22 June every year. At Ulverstone Campus in 2025, Mr West’s 1/2 Class wrote stories and competed in their own first ever Sunny Hugo Camel Cup. This year in 2026, the competition expanded and we had about 70 students participating across Prep to Year 6.

To compete in the Sunny Hugo Camel Cup, you need to crawl on all fours with a paper bowl and scrunched up tissue on your back, representing the camel hump and their fatty tissue that stores the water that helps camels live in dry areas. If the hump falls off, you need to return to the start line and try again.

At recess on Monday 22 June, we “crawled” 11 heats to find our fastest camels who then raced in the finals at lunch time.  Our finals competitors were Lucy, Ariana, Ella C, Demi, Kanmi, Rayel, William, Isabella, Judah, Colten and Bella. After a tight race, with nearly a finish line upset, Ella C was the winner, closely followed by Bella. Ella took home the trophy for 2026!

The Sunny Hugo Camel Cup isn’t just about winning, it’s about having a go, participating and having fun! We hope to celebrate World Camel Day and the Sunny Hugo Camel Cup every year!

One-of-a-kind Stuffies

This term, the Year 7/8 Soft Sculpture students completed a client design project, partnering with our Prep students to create personalised soft sculptures. As part of the design process, they met with their Prep clients to discuss the drawings they had created, conducting interviews to learn about their preferred fabrics, colours, textures, sizes and other design features.

Using the information gathered, along with the Prep students' original drawings, the Year 7/8 students developed patterns and carefully brought each design to life. They applied a range of textile techniques including hand stitching, machine sewing and appliqué, to create unique, handcrafted soft sculptures.

The project provided an authentic design experience, allowing students to develop their communication, planning and sewing skills, while creating something meaningful for a real client. The excitement on the Prep students' faces as they received their one-of-a-kind "stuffies" was a wonderful celebration of the creativity, care and craftsmanship shown by the Year 7/8 students. 

Meet our Worry Monsters and Woodland Characters!

Handmade by our Year 7/8 Soft Sculptures class, these special companions were gifted to children completing the Understanding Worry program. Each one is unique—just like the child who receives it; students made one for themselves and one to donate to Inside Out for Kids.

Lost Property 

We have a table of lost property on display in the foyer.  If you are missing items, please take a look at the table which has various items including uniform, pencil cases, drink bottles and jewellery.

We also have a number of air pods, glasses, keys and a USB - as per the attached photo.  If anything in the photo looks familiar to you, please call into the main office to view and hopefully collect!
