Welcome back to Term Four! It’s always exciting to see our students return full of energy and stories from their holidays. This term brings a range of wonderful opportunities for learning, celebration, and connection across both our Junior and Senior Campuses. With our final term of the year now underway, we look forward to continuing to strengthen our community partnerships and celebrate the achievements of our students.
Parent Opinion Survey

A huge thank you to all families who took the time late last term to complete the Parent Opinion Survey. Your feedback is an essential part of our school improvement journey and directly shapes our future directions. The data we receive helps us identify our strengths and areas for growth, ensuring your voice plays an important role in the decisions we make for Banmira’s continued success.
Footy Colours Day

We wrapped up last term with a fantastic Footy Colours Day! It was brilliant seeing so many students proudly representing their favourite teams — particularly those in St Kilda Saints attire 😉. Students enjoyed a range of AFL-inspired activities across both campuses to get into the spirit of footy finals. The day was full of colour, laughter, and team spirit, rounding off Term Three in true Banmira style.
School Fun Run

Today marks our annual Superhero Fun Run — and for the first time ever, we’ve taken the event off-site to the Athletics Track to accommodate our growing school! This event is always a favourite on the school calendar, combining fun, fitness, and community spirit. Stay tuned for our next newsletter where we’ll share a photo gallery of our students (and staff!) in their superhero best, racing, laughing, and celebrating together.
Senior Years Camp
Next week, our Senior Years students will head off to Camp Kookaburra for their final camp of the 2025 program. We wish them all the best as they embark on a few days of adventure, teamwork, and independence-building. Camps are such a special part of our students’ time at Banmira — they create memories that last a lifetime and provide rich opportunities for learning outside the classroom.
Student-Free Days

A reminder that there will be no school on Monday 3 November (Time in Lieu for staff who attended overnight camps) and Tuesday 4 November (Melbourne Cup Public Holiday). We hope families enjoy the extended weekend together before returning for the final stretch of Term Four.
Reminder: our SunSmart policy requires all students to wear a broad-brimmed hat when outside.

As we look ahead, we have a jam-packed term full of highlights — our Santa Bob Visit, Swimming Sports, End of Year Assembly, and Graduation Ceremonies are just a few of the exciting events on the horizon. I encourage all families to stay connected by checking the Term Four calendars included in this newsletter and joining us for as many events as possible.
Here’s to a positive, productive, and joy-filled final term together at Banmira Specialist School.
