SCHOOL COUNCIL 2025
Role of School Council
School councils play a vital role in Victorian government schools. They are legally constituted bodies that are given powers to set the key directions of a school within state-wide guidelines. By doing this a school council is able to directly influence the direction of the school and the quality of the education that the school provides for its students.
The primary objectives of the school council are:
- Assisting in the efficient governance of the school
- Ensuring that decisions affecting students of the school are made having regard, as a primary consideration, in the best interests of the students
- Enhancing the educational opportunities of the students at the school
- Ensuring the school and the council complies with any requirements of the Act, the Regulations, a Ministerial Order and any DE guidelines.

Smile Squad School Dental Program 2025
Due to unforeseen staff shortages, Smile Squad will be unable to visit Sandringham College Bluff Road 7-9 Campus & Holloway Road 10-12 Campus this year as part of our Smile Squad School Dental Program.
However, we still want to ensure that your students have access to our oral health services. As an alternative, we are happy to offer our Smile Squad services in our clinic. We would be delighted to welcome your students to our clinic for their oral health checks and treatments.
If parents are interested in accessing this service, they can contact our Better Health Network Parkdale Dental Team on 132246 to schedule a dental appointment.
We are also offering free dental packs to schools to be distributed to students.
Thank you for your understanding, and we look forward to continuing to support the oral health needs of your students.
