Secondary Years
Daniel Wood
Dear all,
I extend my warmest wishes to the Good News community as we start the year. As Head of Secondary Years, I have been heartened to see students quickly settling into the routines of learning in the classroom, as well as enjoying opportunities to connect with their peers during Pastoral Care and break times.

There is a clear sense of camaraderie that is present around the campus, and I have been enjoying the regular interactions and chats with students, who have regularly demonstrated respect and curiosity in getting to know me. I was also thrilled to see the level of engagement and support for our 2025 Dux and Proxime Accessit at this morning’s Commencement Service. It is clear that students at Good News genuinely look out for each other, and that goes a long way to ensuring our school is a safe and happy environment for all.
As we begin 2026, I am looking forward to getting to know as many students as possible, and visiting classrooms to experience the high-quality learning available to our students.
I am also thrilled to be part of our Christian community, and look forward to contributing to devotion and worship throughout the year.
We look forward with home, comfortable in the knowledge that ‘with God nothing shall be impossible.’ (Luke 1:37).
Yours faithfully,
Mr Daniel Wood
Head of Secondary Years
