Cultural Celebrations

This week is Lunar New Year which people from many Asian countries celebrate.

During Lunar New Year, people meet with family and friends, and share a meal together, like dinner.   They eat noodles, other Asian dishes and moon cakes. People who are not married, get red pockets with money in them, as gifts from those who are married. This is the most exciting part of Lunar New Year for kids.

Each Lunar year there is a different Zodiac to represent the year. This year is the year of the Horse. People who are born in the year of the horse are said to be elegant, charming, and sociable. The year of the horse encourages everyone to be energetic, friendly, and hard working. So, this year, always remember to give your best and have a go at new things.

Happy New Year everyone!
