Staff Profile

Tylisha Crawford - College Counsellor
What was your background in and what led you to this new role with MacKillop?
After graduating in 2023 with a Bachelor of Social Work with Honours, I started a job in play therapy, before moving on to be a job coach, and have now started my role here as a school counsellor. Since beginning my journey as a social worker, I always wanted to end up as a school counsellor! It feels surreal to have landed my dream job. As a past student, who graduated in 2016, I am thrilled to be back and part of the team here at Mackillop College.
How have you found joining the MacKillop community so far?
As it is starting any new job, it has been a busy and training-filled start, but I am already feeling like a part of the team and have settled into my role. I have enjoyed meeting all the friendly faces around the school.
What is something students may not know about you?
I had 6 wisdom teeth! Which led to a few very painful years before getting them removed.
What were you like as a student?
I was definitely one of the shy kids! Who enjoyed hands-on subjects such as cooking and child studies. I also enjoyed the company of my friends during school.
What do you like to do outside of work?
I am a bit of a home body and enjoy having my own time at home doing the things I enjoy most! Such as watching Kath and Kim, baking, spending time with my loved ones and pets, and doing puzzles! I do love a bit of shopping also.
