St Vincent de Paul Appeal

St Vincent de Paul Society supports our community’s most vulnerable by providing a range of housing solutions tailored to meet their needs.

In light of St Mary of the Cross MacKillop’s inspirational words, ‘Never see a need without doing something about it’, St Mary’s school community has initiated one day, Monday 1st September, to collect gold coin donations which will support the provision of accommodation for those who are without. All funds will be directed to St Vincent de Paul, Echuca, providing a night's accommodation for as many as we can, supporting those who are in need.

Please calendar this important initiative as we collectively support those who do not have a regular place to call home.

St Augustine’s Feast Day

On Thursday 28th August we celebrate one of the significant people in the history of our school: St Augustine of Hippo.

St Augustine is known for his wisdom, holiness and someone who paid particular attention to the poor.

On this day, Year levels will gather in their Shared spaces at 8.45am to participate in a Liturgy to acknowledge this important man.

Life Relationships Program

The Life Relationships Program will be delivered to all Year 6 learners during their Religious Education curriculum for the next five weeks.

This program is presented in partnership with parents as we support learners with their education and learning and continue to foster healthy relationships. The following topics will be covered throughout the unit and will also be covered during the Parent and Child Information session:

  • Relationships
  • Family
  • Adolescence and puberty
  • Reproduction

The Parent & Child Information evening will be held on Wednesday 27th August at 6.30pm in the Brigidine Centre. Learners must be accompanied by at least one parent.

Fr Novie celebrates his 10th Anniversary of Ordination.

An invitation is extended to all families to join with Fr Novie at St Mary’s Church on Sunday 7th September at 9.30am to celebrate a decade since his ordination to the Priesthood. We congratulate Fr Novie for his years of service, his dedication to his leadership along with his strong sense of community and outreach.

As our shepherd, may God continue to bless Fr Novie and his flock.

Following Mass there will be a gathering to continue the celebrations. Please bring a plate to share.

Staff Spirituality Day

On Wednesday 13th August, all St Mary’s staff gathered as a community beginning the day with Reverend Jake Mudge who guided us through reflective questions including where and how we experience the sacredness of God in our lives and what these moments mean to us.

Much of the day provided an opportunity to be still, to be open to new opportunities and to connect with self, others and our God.

We are grateful to CESL for providing this opportunity: time for self in our busy occupations and lives.
