OUR BEEKEEPER VISIT

Last week the 3 year groups had a visit from Holly the Beekeeper who taught us about the importance of bees in our environment.  This has sparked lots of investigation about insects, bees and flowers.  Holly talked to us about how much the bees love having lots of flowers to choose from and some gardens are like a ‘Bee Supermarket’  The bees collect pollen and nectar from the flowers and without bees, we would have no fruit or vegetables to eat.  As an extension this week, the children in Acacia created a Bee Supermarket by planting flower seedlings and a bee bath so the bees have enough water.  We’re looking forward to seeing how many bees come and visit our garden.

JAPANESE TIME

Japanese time has been full of fun in Corea and Hakea Kinder! From running ice cream and fruit shops to celebrating Pikachu’s birthday, the children have been building Japanese vocabulary, exploring new language and developing social skills through imaginative role-play.
