In Term 4, Grade 3 students will be focusing on the “Resilience, Rights and Respectful Relationships program Topic 3: Positive Coping.
The activities we will engage with are:
Activity 1: Using games to talk about coping
Activity 2: Coping when we feel strong emotions
Activity 3: Taming angry feelings
Activity 4: Making apologies
The aim of this topic is to:
• identify ways that they are different from one another and the different ways they manage stress.
• explore how emotional responses can be stronger and weaker, and practise using words that can help them explain the level of emotion they’re experiencing.
• discuss the reasons why they get angry and practise ways to calm down and stay in control when they feel angry.
• develop their own coping strategies for when they feel angry and get opportunities to practise these strategies.
• describe the kinds of actions that can hurt or upset others and practise ways to apologise when they hurt someone.
In Term 4, we will introduce students to our School Wide Expectations, aimed at developing a consistent understanding of behaviour and responsibility across all year levels. The students will get the opportunity to engage in a Cyber Safety and Digital Wellbeing webinar. We will also be engaging in lessons which prepare the students for day camp as well as for their transition into Year 4.
