Principal's Report

Dear Parents, Guardians and Father Arsenio,

What more can I say about our community this past week? I believe we have seen why we are rightly labelled as a 'Community School.'

The fete came together beautifully. The Committee prayers were answered and the day delivered. Over 6500 people attended (as counted by an AI counter) and a grand profit of over $70,000. Congratulations to all involved and a huge vote of thanks to the crew who turned up Sunday to pack up. This included Adam Stone, Matt Young, Sean Young and Adam Riessuet whose children no longer attend our school.

We then rolled straight into the school production of 'Destination Unknown'. Sherree has pulled off a master stroke this year. I have had so much positive feedback about the show and our students. We are fortunate to have her at our school as well as Rod and their extended family. I also want to acknowledge the team that supported her as well as all staff who attended and helped over the two nights. It was a great team effort and one that brought our community together in a big way.

I am pleased to announce that I have employed a Business and Operations Leader, Stuart Andreou Mill. He is currently the Deputy at Our Lady of Good Counsel, Deepdene. He will be working across both schools with me over the next fifteen months. At the conclusion of this it is my intention to return to my position as Principal at Holy Spirit. It will be great to work with him.

Enrolments for next year are being finalised across the school. This will enable us to compile classes for 2027. Please let me know if there is any intention to leave our school. I am still taking enquiries at other levels.

The bricks for the mural have been completed. They are due to be picked up from Campbellfield next week. If anyone has a ute/trailer and was able to assist with this, please let me know.

Preps for 2027 begin their transition this week. I want to wish them all a warm welcome and hope that their journey with us is pleasant and successful. Our prep teachers for next year are Jess, Sheree, Ruby and Liz 0.8 / Diane 0.2. The fourth prep room will be located in what is Grade 3 this year, closest to the prep playground.

Best wishes,

Duncan
