Bike Education

The Year 4 students enjoyed Bike Education last week. They learnt about bike parts, different types of bikes and how the bike works. Students practised their riding skills including braking, bike control and riding in groups. I think the highlight for most was the Out of School Ride to Diamond Creek on Friday. All the students on the ride did an amazing job. Thank you to the parents helpers and some of our student leaders who were great role models on the ride.

Parents, please remind your child about making safer choices like having a properly fitted helmet and choices about where and how they ride. To keep everyone safer, students are not permitted to ride their bikes on school grounds during school times including pick up and drop off times.

Mascot Challenge

Recently, I was fortunate to have Michael from Cricket Victoria join me for some of my PE lessons. We were able to discuss and share ideas around games and activities to build student skills relating to the game of cricket. Michael also stayed back after school to run a Professional Development relating to the Mascot Challenge for our Prep - Year 2 teachers. Our school is registered and students now all have a ball for the Mascot Challenge. The Mascot Challenge provides a ball and short active catching, throwing, and bouncing challenges for students to work through.
