Congratulations to former Year 12 student and 2024 draftee Alix Tauru who recently made his AFL debut in Round 15 against Collingwood Football Club. Alix got 14 spoils as a defender in only his second game. Well done, Alix! We can't wait to see what the rest of the season has in store for you!
Thank you to our partners at Physioworks for supporting Alix throughout his time at Lowanna College (pictured in above collage).

Congratulations to Year 9 student Libby Hoare for being selected to play in the North Gippsland Interleague U15s netball team. Libby and her team will be competing in the Association Championships on the 15th of July.
Our Year 7 and 8 students competed in the West Gippsland Junior Soccer recently. The Year 7 boys won all of their games making it through to the Grand Final, where they won and have advanced to the Gippsland Round. Well done everyone!
In June, our Middle School boys and girls competed in the West Gippsland Intermediate Soccer. Both teams had a successful day and have advanced to the Gippsland Round. Well done everyone!
This term, students have attended individual nutrition appointments with Danielle Purvis, a nutritionist from our partners Standout Nutrition. We thank Danielle for her continued support with our students, and we look forward to continuing our nutrition appointments in Term 3 with our Year 10-12 students.
Well done to Year 9 students Taylah Voumard and Virginia Daley who both recently made their A Grade debut. Taylah filled in for Thorpdale Football Netball Club and Virginia filled in for Newborough Football Netball Club. Well done girls and congratulations.
Last Friday, we had four junior netball teams compete in the West Gippsland netball. All teams competed well, with the Year 7 girls just missing out on the Grand Final. The Year 7 and 8 boys combined team had a successful day and were undefeated, advancing to the Gippsland Round.
Well done to Year 7 student Keira Ingham who competed in the U13s Netball Interleague Association Championships for West Gippsland. Keira placed 9th in the state with close competition all day.

Well done to LSA and Gippsland United Basketball Coach, Heath Johnson, for being appointed as the Director of Coaching and Development at Gippsland United. We are lucky to have Heath as a coach at the college.
Pictured below is Year 10 student Alex Ingham who was selected in the U16s West Gippsland Interleague team, alongside LSA students Jack Morgan and Cooper Belsham. The boys won by a convincing margin last Wednesday, well done!
Nathan Monaco from Physioworks has recently travelled to India with the Cutting Edge Cricket Team as their team physiotherapist.
Strength and conditioning programs and laptops meet for easy recording and referencing for staff and students.
All students have been provided with a Sports Academy diary, which they use to record weekly goals, gratitude, homework and daily reminders for all subjects and events.
The diary is a great learning tool, and we would love parents to take an interest in students' homework, learning tasks and everything else that is going on within the school.
