From the Principal

Dear families,
It is hard to believe that we are zooming towards the end of term 3. We still have lots of fun and learning planned for the last three weeks of term. I am sure all of the students are very excited for the Book Week Dress up Day tomorrow, I know lots of the staff have been talking about what they are going to wear for weeks. The parade begins at 9:00 am in the school hall - families are invited to come and join the celebration.
As we approach Term 4, the school as per our Bush Fire at Risk Guidelines are starting preparations for the upcoming Bushfire season. These preparations include, trimming bushes and overhanging trees, removal of additional waste from the school grounds and other maintenance based jobs. As you are all aware the school has solid relocation procedures in place for Extreme or Catasphopric weather days. These school closure / relocation days are likely to continue into 2027 although, I have not had offical word from MACS yet.
Father's Day Stall:
Just a note that our amazing Parents and Friends Committee are running the annual Father's Day Stall on Friday, 4th of September. They may be looking for some additional help between 11:00am and 1:00pm on the day. If you are able to help, please let Tarnia or Jacqui in the office know. Prices generally range from $2 - $6 or $7 and students would not be required to bring anymore than $10. As always, if you are struggling financially and this is something you cannot afford, please let Declan, Danielle or Emily Atkinson know and we will make arrangements to make sure children do not miss out.
Kaboom Kids Sports:
We are excited to be partnering with Kaboom Kids Sports for a fun tabloid sports day on Monday, 12th of October. This event will be in lieu of our school athletics carnival.
Footy Colours Day:
On Friday 18th of September (Last day of Term 3) we will be holding our Footy Dress up day. Students are invited to dress up in the colours of their favourite footy team.
Children's Book Week 2026:
Book Week Dress-Up Day and Parade – On Friday 28 August, students are invited to come to school dressed as their favourite book character, author, or illustrator. Families are welcome to come celebrate the parade from 9:00 am in the school hall.
MACSSIS Survey:
Next week a number of families will receive an email with a link and code to complete the MACSSIS Survey. It would be great if those families could take some time to complete the survey. The data is used by schools and our system. It should take no longer than 20 minutes to complete.
