A Splendid Start to the School Year

The school year has begun smoothly for our entire community. As a school now in its third year, we have much to be proud of, and the progress made so far is commendable. I congratulate everyone on their excellent efforts.

Our students deserve special recognition for arriving at school well prepared, with the correct uniform, books, and equipment, and ready to learn. Most importantly, they have demonstrated a positive attitude towards their learning. During assemblies, we continue to emphasise the importance of students working closely with their teachers to achieve their personal best, while reinforcing our core values of Respect, Responsibility, High Expectations, and Collaboration.

Our new House Team structure has supported a strong start to the year, with coordinators and teachers doing an outstanding job in transitioning students smoothly into their core classes following the completion of the first week’s induction program.

The importance of strong communication and partnerships between home and school is highly emphasised by our college and is supported by research highlighting the impact of positive relationships between students, teachers, and families on student success.

I would also like to thank our families for their continued support and commitment in preparing their children for a successful start at Yarrabing Secondary College.

Well done to everyone on a terrific beginning to the year.
