Welcome to Term 3!
As always, this term promises to be an action-packed one, full of wonderful opportunities for our students to perform and audiences to appreciate.
Drumline news
We are very excited to announce that our newly established Drumline, under the direction of Mr Ian Talati, will be participating in the Australian Drumline Competition at the Rosewood Centre, Barker College on Saturday 3 August at 6:00 pm. All keen percussionists and their families are invited to attend. Parking is available under the Rosewood Centre, via Unwin Road.
Our Drumline will also be attending extra rehearsals in preparation for this event at the following times:
Week 2 - Wednesday 31 July, 3:15pm to 4:30pm (only for the non-Year 8 students)
Week 2 - Saturday 3 August, rehearsal at the school 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm
Week 2 - Saturday 3 August - 5:00pm arrival at Barker College for 6:00 pm performance
Teaching staff news
We are excited to welcome Mr Tony Wheeler to our peripatetic music staff. Mr Wheeler is a highly experienced woodwind teacher replacing Mr Dollin, teaching alto saxophone and clarinet to students from Years 5 – 12.
Year 11 Music excursion
Our Year 11 Elective Music 1 and Music 2 students are attending an Australian Music Composition workshop day on Friday 2 August at MLC Burwood. Presenters include an impressive array of composers and performers, including renowned Australian composer Elena Kats-Chernin, and the workshop encourages students to explore new compositional styles and techniques.

Our Term 3 meeting is scheduled for next Monday evening (29 July, 7:30 pm) ONLINE via TEAMS.

Also, please SAVE THE DATE for our Term 3 Twilight Concert on Friday, 6 September. PAPA will be looking for help feeding our students beforehand starting from 2:30 pm - helper sign up sheet link will be sent out closer to the time.
Finally, please support the P&F Trivia Night on Saturday, 17 August. All funds raised will be distributed between PAPA and the sports supporters’ clubs and, as always, it’s sure to be a fantastic night!

Drama Matters
HSC Drama Trial
Please come along to the annual HSC Drama Trial where the Year 12 students present their practical work to their parents, peers and the school community. This will include an 8-12 minute original performance written and performed by the group as well as the performance of their major work pieces which are excerpts from the following plays: The Producers, Accidental Death of an Anarchist, How to Disappear Completely and Never be Found, Rosencrantz & Guildenstern are Dead and Decadence.
The performances are at the Sarto this Sunday 28 July from 1:00 pm - 2:15 pm.

Junior Drama Ensemble will begin Friday Week 1
Intermediate & Senior Drama Ensembles will begin in Week 2
