Principal Report

Dear Families,

It is the end of another busy term here at Dana Street Primary School. Our students have achieved so much, which was shared with families this week through reports, portfolios and student-led conferences. It was wonderful to see so many families here on Wednesday, sharing and learning from their children. Thank you to everyone who attended.

Senior Unit - Authentic Actions

Thursday was the senior unit’s term to showcase all of their learning throughout the term. The 3/4s put on a fabulous display of their learning in their classroom expo.

The 5/6s organised games and activities that they ran for the other year levels. The atmosphere in the yard was sensational, with our senior students getting a taste of what it is like to be a teacher! Students participated in a rotation of activities, and they had an amazing time.

The whole morning of events was capped off with a superb match between the Staff and Year 6 students. The basketball hoops game was played with spirit and fun, with the teachers defeating the Year 6s through teamwork and dedication. Having the whole school cheering on the sidelines was wonderful as well.

Holiday Works

Over the holiday break, you may see some work happening within our school grounds. The football nets/posts are being replaced by a fence, in line with the other barriers around the oval. We look forward to using the oval to its full capacity again next term.

Curriculum Day - Monday 13th July

The first day of Term 3 is a Curriculum Day for Dana Street Primary. Our teaching staff will be continuing to refine our maths instructional model with Andrea Hillbrick. Education Support staff will also participate in the Berry Street Education Model ES training on this day.

We hope that all of our students and families get the chance to rest and recharge over the holiday period.

Have a happy and safe holiday,

Helen
