On Wednesday, our Year 7’s and Year 12’s were on campus for the start of their 2024 school years. One year level starting the journey and another embarking on the last year at St Patrick’s College. It was fantastic to see the Year 12 boys leading their Year 7 buddies around the school, and starting to establish a bond that we hope last for the year. The following day, the halls were filled with the buzz of students eager to catch up with their mates and engage with the business of learning.
Whether the student is in Year 7 or Year 12, we hope that they endeavour to approach all aspects of their schooling with a willingness to work hard, as effort is going to beat talent every time. And it is through this lens that we hope the boys strive to achieve the best of their abilities, that they do not measure themselves by the outcome but rather by whether they put in 100 per cent. This is in and outside the classroom, in the yard as they develop their friendships, in developing positive working relationships with their teachers, when competing on the sporting field, when engaging in the arts and in all other aspects of their lives.
In the Senior School we see the partnership we have with our parents as vital and an integral part of ensuring our students continue to develop into the best version of themselves in their time here at St Patrick’s College, and I would like to encourage you to attend the Senior School Parents Information night from 5pm-7pm next Thursday, 8 February with your son in the new Performing Arts Centre. You will have an opportunity to learn more about your son's journey ahead with us, in particular the VCE system and meet some of the teachers who will be working closely with your son, including the Home Room Teachers and the Year Level Co-ordinators.
If you haven't yet done so, please register your attendance at the Parent Information Session. We look forward to seeing you there.
