Government funding for Centre of Excellence in Paramedicine

VU and the Hon. Mary-Anne Thomas, Minister for Health, together announced a $20 million investment for Australia’s first Centre of Excellence in Paramedicine – based at VU's Sunshine Campus.

The Victorian Government pledged $10 million in 2022, which has now been matched by VU. Set to open in 2026, the Centre will feature modern simulation spaces and training facilities, fostering industry partnerships with Ambulance Victoria. It aims to provide post-qualification training, immersive learning experiences, and impactful research in paramedicine. VU has been a leader in paramedic education since 1995, and we continue our legacy in shaping skilled healthcare professionals, supported by our strong industry collaborators.
