WEEK 4 | TERM 1

Week 4 Newsletter Update

As we move into the fourth week of term, it has been wonderful to see our students settling into routines and engaging positively in their learning. Thank you for your ongoing support in helping our school community start the year smoothly.

Road Safety Around Our School

Keeping our students safe during drop‑off and pick‑up remains a shared responsibility. We ask all families to take extra care when driving near the school and to always follow all road rules.

Key reminders:

  • No U‑turns are permitted in front of the school. This is now illegal, and police may issue fines. We continue to see some drivers performing U‑turns in this area, often blocking traffic and creating unsafe conditions. We have also received reports of minor accidents caused by these illegal manoeuvres. Please ensure you use the appropriate streets to safely loop around.
  • Please reduce speed and remain alert for children crossing.
  • Use designated crossing points and avoid stopping in unsafe areas.
  • Follow staff directions during busy times.

Parking in the Childcare Centre

We have had some feedback about families using the childcare centre car park during school drop‑off and pick‑up times. To support the smooth running of their service, we kindly ask that these spaces be kept for families whose children attend the childcare centre. Keeping this area clear helps reduce congestion and ensures a safer environment for everyone, especially the youngest members of our community.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in helping our whole community move safely and smoothly.

Drop and Go Zone

Our Drop and Go Zone is designed to keep traffic flowing safely and efficiently. This area is for quick drop‑offs/pick-ups only.

Please remember:

  • Drivers must remain in the vehicle.
  • Students should exit on the kerb side only.
  • Drive forward to keep the line moving.
  • Do not park or wait for extended periods. This is a 2-minute zone.

When everyone follows the expectations, the system works smoothly and safely for all families.

Oval Progress Update

Thank you to the parents who have provided feedback about the ongoing works on new oval. We appreciate your patience as works continue. Safety is our biggest priority, and I have worked closely with the construction team over the last couple of days to ensure no movement of trucks during pick up times and drop off times. This was the agreement from the beginning with the team, so thank you to our families who wrote to me expressing concerns of safety.

The project is running slightly behind schedule, but the current layer will be completed shortly, and grass is expected to be laid towards the end of next week. After this, there will be a 12‑week settlement period to allow the grass to take hold and establish properly.

We will have new works beginning near Learning Community A and the Year 5/6 area. More detailed information will be shared with families next week.

School Values

Our School values are important to us. Remember to show Respect, Be Responsible, Strive for Excellence and show genuine Care for others and the environment.
