Principal's Update
At Dundas Public School we do our best always

As we approach the end of a busy and rewarding term, it is a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the many achievements and positive moments across our school.
I would also like to share a brief update regarding our leadership arrangements. The relieving period has been extended, and I will continue in the role of Relieving Principal until the end of Week 5, Term 2. I am very grateful for this opportunity and sincerely thank our staff, students and families for the warm welcome and ongoing support, it is a privilege to lead such a wonderful school community.

Congratulations to our Kindergarten students as they near the completion of their first term at school. Over the term, they have made outstanding academic and social progress. It has been wonderful to see them confidently settle into school routines, develop their independence, and build new friendships. Most importantly, their happy and enthusiastic presence each day brings great joy to our school.
I would also like to acknowledge the many students who have transitioned into a new class or joined our school this year. They have embraced these changes with positivity, resilience and a strong sense of inclusion.
Finally, I extend my sincere thanks to our teaching, support and administrative staff for their ongoing dedication, care and commitment to our students and wider school community. I would also like to thank our families for their continued support, partnership and the important role you play in your children’s learning journey.
Have a safe and happy holiday!!

Over Weeks 7 and 8, our students successfully completed their NAPLAN assessments. I would like to congratulate all our students on the positive and mature way they approached these tests. They demonstrated resilience, focus and a willingness to challenge themselves, which is something we are incredibly proud of. NAPLAN is just one snapshot of student learning, and we value the effort and growth each child shows every day in the classroom. Thank you to our teachers for their careful preparation and support, and to our families for encouraging and supporting students throughout this time.
The new classrooms have been an exciting milestone for our school. Students in Stage 2 Buruwaluri and Dingu, along with Stage 3 Wallu-mill, Mayla, Buru and Wilbung, have thoroughly enjoyed exploring their new classrooms. It has been wonderful to see the sense of excitement and pride as students settled into these modern, flexible spaces, designed to support collaboration, creativity and high-quality learning. These new environments provide fantastic opportunities for innovative teaching and learning, and we look forward to seeing our students continue to thrive in these spaces. We were thrilled to see our new build featured on the news. Feel free to take a look at the story here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MiNMqeuiO9E

Well done to Mia and Emily from Stage 3 Buru, who have demonstrated outstanding creativity through their recent writing. The girls composed fantastic poems inspired by our new build, capturing both the excitement and pride felt across our school. Their thoughtful word choices and vivid imagery are a wonderful example of student voice and the high-quality learning taking place in our classrooms.

Our school community came together for a wonderful afternoon on the Village Green, showing their support for the Matildas in a sea of green and gold. Students enjoyed a fun dance session and the opportunity to celebrate together in a relaxed and joyful atmosphere. A sincere thank you to our P&C for their fantastic bake sale and pre-loved uniform stall, and to our families for joining us, your ongoing support helps create such strong and connected school experiences.
Harmony Day was a wonderful celebration of the rich diversity within our school community. Students proudly wore orange and cultural clothing, participated in meaningful classroom activities, and engaged in discussions about inclusion, respect and belonging.
