Mr Hyatt

Transition Graduation Ceremony Tomorrow!

It only seemed like yesterday when our fifteen transition students consisting of Harry K, Alfie, Anna, Amelia, Harrison, Millie, Stirling, Eden, Alice, Evelyn, Wallace, Harry M, Heidi, Eve, and Jake commenced our transition program.  I know that all of the children have had a great time over the last three months and I can tell all of them are ready for Kindergarten next year. Thank you to Mrs Hoy, Mrs Rizzi and Mrs Healey who have led these sessions at various times during the program. To celebrate Transition's achievements we will be holding a Graduation Ceremony as part of our school assembly tomorrow, Friday 10th November commencing at 2.20pm. Everyone is invited to join us.

Wishing You All Of The Best Mrs Healey!

It is with mixed emotions that I share the news that Mrs Healey will be leaving St Patrick's Primary School to work at St Agne's Primary School in Port Macquarie in 2024. While we are sad to see her go, we are also excited for her new adventure and the opportunities that await her.

I know that Mrs Healey will be missed by many at St Patrick's Primary, but on behalf of our school community, I wish her all the best in her new role. We are confident that she will bring the same level of passion and dedication to her new school, and we look forward to hearing about her future successes.

We will formally acknowledge Mrs Healey's time with us with a special presentation at our School Presentation Night on the 7th of December.

School Building Works Update

Finally, I have some exciting news about the building work project that will be taking place at St Patrick's, including the installation of new playground equipment on top playground. Yesterday I met with representatives from the Catholic Schools Office, project managers, as well as contract managers as they inspected the various sites around the school where the building works will take place. I have been assured that stage one (ripping up and relaying concrete to fix the drainage problems between the library and the primary classroom block), as well as stage two (fixing the drainage issues in the middle playground, creating a new ramp from the middle playground to the top playground that complies with safety standards and an installation of an outdoor gathering area), will commence in early January. The third stage of the project, with the installation of a ninja course, slide and climbing equipment will commence soon after.

It is hoped that in 2024, our new playground will be operational.

2024 School Leadership Speeches and Election Day

As we are on the subject of preparing for our End of Year Presentation Night, a number of our Year 5 students have begun preparing and rehearsing speeches for our upcoming 2024 School Leadership Speeches and Election Day on Wednesday 22nd November.

I would like to thank all of our Year 5 students who have nominated themselves to fill these positions if elected. I know all of you would do a fantastic job!

The Year 5 speeches will commence at 9.30am in the library and parents are invited to join us. After the speeches all students and staff members will then cast their votes. Our 2024 School Leaders will be officially announced at our End of Year Presentation Night.

Mini Vinnies Talent Quest Round-Up

Congratulations go out to all of the students who participated in the Mini Vinnies Talent Quest that was on this afternoon. We have a large amount of talent here at St Patrick's as a wide range of acts were performed. Some of the acts included: puppet shows, dancing, singing, joke telling, and many more! All of these acts were outstanding and our judges had a very difficult time deciding who the winners were for this year.

The winners of our Talent Quest were:

1st Place- Lachie Provost

2nd Place- Harriet Laurie

3rd Place-Maddie Brennan and Ellody Hoy

End of Year Presentations

It is not long before we will be formally acknowledging the student's achievements for this academic year. Although our End of Year Presentation Night was a great event last year, it simply took too long! This year is also our allocated year where all of the classes are involved with a whole school performance. The play has been selected, roles have been allocated and all of our students have begun practising their acting and dancing moves for our performance of 'The Dragon Returns' which will be on Wednesday 29th November, commencing at 6.00 pm at the Walcha Multipurpose Centre.

It has been decided we will not be having our Year 6 Graduation Ceremony, classroom and perpetual awards on the same night. So Thursday 7th December, we will be having our annual Schools Presentation Night under the school COLA, followed by a barbecue, where all members of our school community are invited to join us.

Year 3-4 Excursion to Thalgarrah

The Year 3-4 students will be participating in an overnight excursion to Thalgarrah Environment Education Centre on the 23rd and 24th of November. Mrs Makeham and myself will be supervising the students on this excursion. Information was sent home to all families recently via Compass.
