QGSSSA Autumn Fixtures

In a thrilling conclusion to weeks of preparation, and fierce competition, the Autumn Fixtures for our QGSSSA teams—Basketball, Football, and Touch Football—have come to an exhilarating end with QGSSSA Reconciliation Round against St Hilda’s School. The final standings are in, reflecting noteworthy commitment and determination of our athletes.

One standout feature of this season has been the remarkable resilience and tenacity of our girls. Our students faced physically demanding training sessions, intense matches, and the inevitable setbacks that come with competitive sport. Yet, they persevered, showcasing determination that went far beyond the confines of the sports field. Through the ups and downs, the girls learnt that setbacks are not insurmountable obstacles but rather opportunities for growth and self-improvement.

To all Autumn fixtures participants, CC Sport salutes you for your commitment and passion. The display of sportsmanship has made us immensely proud. A special acknowledgment goes to our coaches, whose expertise and leadership have been pivotal in shaping cohesive and spirited teams. Your commitment is deeply valued and appreciated.

We also extend our heartfelt thanks to the parents, families, and friends whose steadfast support has been invaluable. Your cheers and encouragement from the sidelines have inspired the girls. Thank you for being an integral part of our Autumn Fixtures season.

Andrews Cup Netball: A Display of Skill and Spirit

In a testament to their hard work and dedication in training, our Primary netball players shone at Tuesday's Andrews Cup Netball competition. All teams stepped onto the courts with enthusiasm and a strong sense of school spirit, showcasing the outcomes of their training.

The D Grade team emerged as a notable contender, securing third place in their pool and advancing to the semi-finals. Demonstrating remarkable teamwork, they clinched a victory that propelled them into the 6th and 7th place playoffs. Despite a fiercely contested final game, the D Grade girls concluded their campaign with a respectable 7th place finish.

Facing formidable opposition throughout the day, the A Grade girls displayed resilience and skill. They rose to the challenge, finishing 4th in their pool and earning a semi-final berth. The team's exceptional performance featured standout interceptions from the defence, seamless drives and feeds from the midcourt, and accurate shooting. Their efforts culminated in a commendable 8th place finish.

The highlight of the day was the Junior B team's stellar performance. Demonstrating intelligent, cohesive netball, the Junior B girls triumphed in three of their four games, securing second place in their division and taking home a well-deserved pennant.
