Principal's Report

Dear HPS Community,

It has been another wonderful week of learning, growth and engagement at HPS. Across the school, students have been busy exploring new concepts, developing their skills and embracing the many opportunities that make learning both meaningful and enjoyable.

As we head into the long weekend, we wish all of our families a safe and relaxing break. Please note that Monday is the King's Birthday public holiday and the school will be closed.

We look forward to welcoming everyone back on Tuesday 9 June, ready for another exciting week of learning.

Recorder Soirée Success

Congratulations to all of the students who performed at last week's Recorder Soirée. Our students showcased their developing musical talents with confidence and enthusiasm, and should be very proud of their performances.

A special thank you to Fiona for her dedication, expertise and encouragement in preparing the students for this wonderful event. We also extend our sincere thanks to the parents, carers and family members who attended to support the performers and celebrate their achievements. Your encouragement and presence helped make the evening a memorable success for everyone involved.

Working Bee

Thank you to the Buildings and Grounds sub-committee, and in particular Jack, for organising and overseeing the working bee on Wednesday afternoon. There was lots achieved including weeding of garden beds and the spreading of fresh layers of mulch around the school. We, and our plants and trees, thank all the families who were able to attend and contribute. You are greatly appreciated!

Thank you to the Thews, Macdonald, Sugden, Wang, Gilbert and Welling families for your enthusiastic help on the afternoon! We look forward to seeing you all for the next one - Jack

Respecting Accessible Parking Spaces

We ask all members of our school community to take seriously the importance of our designated accessible parking spaces.

These spaces are provided to support students, parents, carers and visitors who rely on them to safely and equitably access our school. When these bays are used by vehicles without the appropriate permit, even for a brief drop-off or pick-up, it can create significant challenges and distress for families who genuinely need them.

We respectfully request that all drivers recognise the impact that misuse of these spaces has on others and ensure that accessible parking bays remain available for those they are intended to support. By showing consideration and following parking regulations, we can help create a safe, inclusive and respectful environment for all members of our school community.

Thank you for your cooperation and support.

Foundation 2027 Enrolments

Do you have a child starting school in 2027?

We are accepting enrolments now. Hard copy enrolment forms can be found in the office foyer, or on our website.

Enrolments will close on Friday 31 July 2026.

If you are enrolling the sibling of a student at our school, and both children will be attending our school at the same time, your child is prioritised for a place at our school as per the department’s Placement Policy.
