Principal's Report

Welcome back and welcome to our new families for 2026.
We have had a smooth start to the school year, with new staff and students all settling in well. Our teachers have been spending time explicitly teaching school-wide and classroom expectations, that are underpinned by our school values, Respect, Responsibility and Resilience, so that the classroom is conducive to effective student learning. Our students have been participating in activities to help them get to know one another, their teachers and learn about themselves as learners.
Assembly
We have two Whole School Assemblies each term. Our first one is coming up on Monday 23rd of February at 9:10am in the gym. This will be a little longer in duration as this also includes the badge presentation for our Year 6 student leaders. We look forward to welcoming as many parents/carers as possible to help us recognise our students.
School Start Time – 9:00am
Please be aware that school commences each day at 9:00am, with the first bell going at 8:50am. This gives the students 10 minutes to settle into their classroom, unpack their belongings, change their take home reading book and follow the classroom morning routine. Teachers commence instruction and the daily learning program at 9:00am. Students who arrive after 9:00 am are required to go past the office and sign in via Compass. Arriving late disadvantages students and interrupts the class. We kindly ask that you do your best to arrive at school on time.
Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund expenditure (CSEF)
The CSEF provides payments to assist eligible families to cover the costs of camps, sporting activities and excursions. Payments are made directly to an eligible student’s school. Schools must use a CSEF payment only for the eligible student. In 2026, families eligible for CSEF will see an increase in support to $400 for primary and secondary school children. This support is available for Government school students only and you can apply by contacting our school's office. For more information click on the link below.
Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund expenditure (CSEF)
Free Public Transport
Public transport is free for children under 18, saving families up to $755, per child, per year.
This makes it easier for young people to stay connected, whether travelling to school, sport, work or social activities, while helping families save on everyday costs.
To get free travel up until the age of 18 parents will need to create an account and purchase a Youth myki card for $5 – this is the once off payment to cover the cost of the card, you won’t need to pay for anything after this. To register please click here.
Sandpit Donations
At our school we have two sandpits, which have recently been topped up with fresh, new
sand. We are now looking for donations to freshen up our sand pit toys. Specifically, we are looking for good condition, used beach toys, cars and trucks. If you do have any that you could donate, please bring them to your class teacher or to the office.
