God's Love and Care for All

Our Lady's aspires to be a welcoming community unified by love, faith, hope and learning.

Term 4, Week 11

Dear Parents and Carers,

As we arrive at the end of another school year, I would like to thank our school community for the partnership, trust and support you have shown throughout the year. Every term has brought its own moments of learning, joy, challenge, growth, faith and celebration and through it all, our community spirit and positive school culture has made all the difference.

Thank you to our parents who have generously given up their time and volunteered throughout the year whether it be in the canteen, attending excursions, athletics day, attending Friday assemblies and other special school events. Your support and dedication to our school is greatly appreciated. A big thank you to our parents who assisted with our Year 6 Graduation fundraisers throughout the year. We truly appreciate all that you do!

I would also like to acknowledge the incredible commitment of our staff, who consistently give their best to ensure your children feel known, supported, and inspired. The dedication behind every lesson, every conversation and every moment of care reflects our Catholic faith and the mission of our school.

Our Christmas Performance was a huge success, with over 600 family members joining us across both sessions. It was great to see our students shine as they sang, acted and performed with such confidence and enthusiasm. Special thanks to Mrs B for her vision, energy and creativity in leading our students.

To our Year 6 students and the families who are graduating from our community, we offer our blessings and congratulations. We are incredibly proud of all you have achieved during your time at OLPS and we pray that God continues to guide and protect you as you begin the next chapter of your educational journey.

We congratulate Joyce Mikho for receiving the Jo Baird award. This is the 14th year that we have presented this award to a Year 5 student who continually strives to do their best and treats others with respect. Congratulations Joyce, continue to be a positive role model as you enter your final year of your primary school years.

Our End of Year Mass was a beautiful and prayerful way to gather as a community and give thanks for the year that has been. In his homily, Fr George reminded us of Jesus’ call to “love one another as I have loved you.” This powerful message invited us to reflect on how we treat one another each day with kindness, compassion and respect. Fr George spoke about the importance of every person in our community, reminding us that each of us is necessary and that everyone belongs. No one is invisible and everyone has a role to play in building a loving and inclusive school where all feel valued and supported. His message of mercy, healing and restoration resonated deeply. The end of a school year brings transition farewells, new beginnings and moments of reflection. It is a time to acknowledge challenges, celebrate growth and offer forgiveness where needed, allowing us to move forward with hope and renewed hearts. Our Mass was a reminder that, as a faith community, we are called to walk together  supporting one another through change, extending mercy and always choosing love.

I would like to congratulate our school leaders for 2026. We look forward to seeing your light and vision shine through your leadership and service.
