International Student Update

Welcome back to Term 4!
We hope you all had a great holiday. Most of our Chinese students travelled home during the Term 3 break to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day with their families. We are delighted to welcome everyone back on time and ready to learn. Let's keep working hard and finish the final term of the year on a high note!
2026 Gangwon International Youth Forum
Congratulations on Dily and Alber who both received a Certificate of Completion for attending the 2026 Gangwon International Youth Forum. Here is the feedback from Dily: On 31st of July, I got a chance to participate in an international conference organised by an institution from South Korea. In the conference, our students could interact with one another from different countries. Moreover, we were able to discuss and debate on the current issue of "Artificial Intelligence" with this year's main question of "Should we be worried about AI taking jobs from humans?" and "Is it morally wrong to create artificial things?" We were able to discuss and share our ideas across these topics. It was a very great opportunity to be engaged in a conference to share and exchange ideas with different high school students from different countries."
Y9 STEM ( Electric cars investigation )
During the last two weeks , our Year 9 STEM students explored how electric cars work, investigating their advantages and disadvantages and the role of different energy sources in sustainable transport. To put their learning into practice, students designed and built their own solar-powered cars, using solar energy to power their creations. This hands-on activity encouraged students to apply their research, problem-solving and design skills while exploring cleaner and more sustainable ways to travel.
International Student Homestay Update
The Term 4, 2026 homestay invoices have now been distributed to all relevant parents. Please arrange payment to the college's official account at your earliest convenience.
To ensure a smooth experience for our families, the school manages to transfer homestay fund to homestay hosts every fortnight in advance.
Please note that for 2026, the international student homestay fee is 400 AUD per week. If a student returns home during the school holidays, a reduced room retention fee applies:
- Term 1, 2, and 3 holidays: 200 AUD per week
- Term 4 holiday: 100 AUD per week
As holiday travel schedules differ significantly for every student, managing these arrangements involves a tremendous amount of administrative work. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the school community for its incredible support. In particular, we extend our sincere gratitude to our new account payable/receivable staff , Ms. Diab, whose meticulous care, patience, and outstanding efforts have ensured this process ran smoothly.
