K-10 Athletics Carnival 

Grand Opening of Cricket Nets

On Wednesday 26th June, St Philomena's will officially open their cricket nets and Sydney Thunder BBL player Oliver Davies will be in attendance. This will be a closed event for Years 3-10 students only. Any students who want to participate in the coaching clinics, must collect a nomination form from the school office, get the form completed & signed by a parent and return it to the school office by 3pm on Monday 24/6/24.

Attendance

Dear Parents/Carers,Beginning Week 4, unexplained attendance messages will automatically be sent to families via both text and email.These texts/emails are automated and sent from Compass directly to parents/carers.Attendance is everyone's responsibility. When your child misses school, they miss important opportunities to learn, make friends and build skills through fun. Thank you for explaining these absences within 7 days of the absence.

 

New Drop Off & Pick Up Arrangements 

New Drop Off and Pick Up Arrangements - Starting 06/05/24

Dear Parents,

Please see below important information regarding morning drop off and afternoon pick up arrangements. 

Students’ safety is our top priority and we ask you to follow the correct procedures and road safety guidelines at all times.

 

Morning Drop Off 

No access to pull in behind the church

No stopping in designated bus bay

Parents and students MUST use the crossings

Do NOT CROSS in the bus bay

Students can access the school through the Bus Bay Gate or the Hall Gate between 8:25 am and 8:55 am

Access after 8:55 am will ONLY be via the Hall Gate

Afternoon Pick-Up 

Parents and students MUST use the crossings

Do NOT CROSS in the bus bay

The Hall gate will be unlocked at 3:15

Parents/Carers enter the school grounds and collect students from UNDER THE COLA on the northern side of the hall

Walkers K-6

Students will exit via the Bus Bay Gate with duty teachers

One teacher will walk the students east along Gwydir Street and cross the students at the church and then also across the southern side of Boston Street

One teacher will walk the students west along Gwydir Street and cross the students in front of the hall and then on the northern side of Edward Street to the park

The school's duty of care ends when the students have crossed the road. (Teachers do not wait for parents to collect students from the park. Supervised pick-up is at the school only.)

Overnight Excursions

 

The overnight excursion costs for 2024 have now been finalised. The amounts owed have been added to your compass portal.

 

To be able to offer our students positive and engaging experiences at an affordable price, the School and P&F will jointly subsidise each overnight excursion to the value of 40%. 

 

Parent costs will be as follows:-

 

Year 4 - Dubbo - $300 - 1st - 3rd May

Year 5 - Lake Keepit - $380 - 19th - 22nd November

Year 6 - Canberra - $465 - 19th - 23rd August (PACER Subsidy also included)

Year 7 - Lake Keepit - $300 - 20th - 22nd March

Year 9 & 10 - Sydney - $540 -  28th October - 1st November

 

Payment by instalments is welcome. Payments can be made via Bpay or via the Compass App. We ask that excursion fees be paid in full by the end of Term 3, Friday 27th September 2024. If you are experiencing difficulties, or will need longer to pay, please contact the office for an appointment to discuss options.
