Accessible Building Works Update
Angela Dawson
I must admit I was caught a little off guard last week when we received notification that our long-awaited accessible building works would be commencing this week! While the timing was sooner than expected, we're thrilled that these important improvements are finally underway.
The construction team has established their site setup at the end of the staff carpark area. Please be assured that the contractors will remediate this area with fresh seed for new grass once the works are completed.
The major works begin shortly in our Year 1 area, focusing on the installation of the new accessibility ramp and accessible toilet facilities. These improvements will make a significant difference to our school community, ensuring that all students, staff, and visitors can navigate our facilities with greater ease and independence.
In addition to the ramp and toilet construction, the works this term will include the automation of an internal door to one of our specialist classrooms located in the Year 1 area. This automated door system will provide seamless access for all users.
This part of the project is scheduled for completion by the end of this term, and we're excited to see these valuable accessibility enhancements take shape. We appreciate your patience during the construction period and look forward to celebrating these improvements with our school community once they're finished.
Keep an eye out in next week’s newsletter for the works that will be happening during the school holidays.
Thank you for your understanding as we work to make our school
more inclusive and accessible for everyone.
