Welcome to IPS

Excitement has been building this week with students eager to spend their money at the Fathers' Day stall.  Each class had chance to visit with options to buy a small gift.

We would like to thank our PFA volunteers for generously donating their time to organise goods, man the stalls and count the proceeds.   The stall was super busy and took over $5,000.  Thank you PFA volunteers for making it happen!

Our school Fathers' Day celebrations culminated in a wonderful brekkie at school for some lucky dads and special people!   It was a very early start this morning, but dads were rewarded with a strong coffee and scrumptious food in the hall.   The morning was filled with joy and the children were thrilled to treat their dads!

Head over to the Father's Day Breakfast page for more photos.

Again, thank you to our PFA and volunteers and also to Annette in the canteen.  Without you we just couldn't run events like this and the children so clearly love them!

Ivanhoe District Athletics Carnival

The team had a very successful day on Monday. The girls bought home the 2025 Girls Team Athletics trophy.  The boys placed 3rd overall in the hunt for the Boys Team Athletics trophy.

In Mr Bull's absence, Mr McKay organised the excursion for the teams.  He was assisted by Rhianna Critchley and Paul Roast who supported and provided guidance to the competitors.  They noted everyone displaying outstanding effort in terms of behaviour, motivation and resilience.  Mr McKay and the teachers were all very proud of the students who participated and reported that they were a credit to the school and families of Ivanhoe primary school.

We wish 'good luck' to those students who placed 1st and 2nd in their events.  These students will progress to the Division Athletics Championship at Meadow Glen Friday on the 12th of September. As soon as Mr McKay receives a list of those students he will get information out regarding the championships.

2026 Year 6 Uniforms

Mr Pearce and Emily Fraser have begun the process of coordinating Grade 6 clothing for 2026. Grade 5 families have already had the chance to view design options, and the hoodie and polo pictured will be available for purchase later in the year from Noone, our school supplier in East Ivanhoe. In the coming weeks, students will be able to try on sample items to find their best fit. After the fitting session, Grade 5 families will be able to place their orders for Grade 6 clothing through the Noone website.

Parent Opinion Survey Reminder

Our school is conducting the annualParent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey and is seeking your feedback. The survey, offered by the Department of Education, is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behaviour, and student engagement.

Please check your email to see if you were a member of the random sample of families that was sent an invitation to complete the survey.

The Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey will remain open online until Friday 19 September 2025.

Your opinions are important to us and will contribute to identifying areas for improvement and professional development needs in the school, to target school planning and improvement strategies.

The department will use the results from the survey for research purposes and to improve outcomes for students. The survey is being conducted online and only takes 20 minutes to complete.  If you require assistance in completing the survey, please reach out to your child’s teacher, or the school if you require assistance in another language.

I am putting out this reminder as only 8% of responses have been received.
