From the Principal

Hi everyone,

Welcome to the final newsletter of Term 2!

Last week we inducted another alumni into the OGPS Hall of Fame - Hana Basic. Hana represented Australia in the women's 100m at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and was the 100m Australian National Champion in 2021. It was fantastic to have her come to assembly and speak to the students about her memories as a student at OGPS as well as her athletic career.  We look forward to welcoming our next Hall of Fame inductee - hopefully next term!

Last week we also had a whole school incursion - a Catalonian dance performance. Thank you to Señorita Melo for organising this for us. Thank you also to Mrs Molnar for organising the parent information session - Think you Know, which was well attended by our parent community. If you would like to know more about this please check the wellbeing page in this newsletter.

Reports will be available via Compass on the 2nd of July. Please take the time to download these and celebrate the successes of your children over the first Semester of 2025. If you have any questions about the report please do no hesitate to reach out to the teachers and have a chat or organise a meeting as needed.

Lost property - we need your help! The lost property cupboard is currently very full - with 36 named clothing items in it. If you have missing items of clothing please take a look. Emails have been sent to families with named items currently in the cupboard as we really need this space to empty and refill to ensure we can return clothing to families in a timely manner.

Whitehorse Council is currently asking for feedback on their Draft Master plan for the Mirrabooka, Orchard Grove and Fulton Reserves (Wurundjeri Walk) area. Please see the flyer on the advertisements page for further details.

Finally - thank you to all of the parent helpers for their support over this term. We appreciate all of the help we have received, attending camps, excursions and reading with students at the beginning of the day, to name just a few. We very much appreciate the positive impact this has on what we can offer our students here at OGPS. Next term the Fiesta planning will continue to increase, so we look forward to having this community support help us with this event as well.

Till next term.

Michelle
