Beyond the Finish Line: Celebrating Participation
While we always applaud our students who achieve first place and win events, what truly defines our school's spirit is not just the victories, but the incredible level of participation. The recent Diocesan athletics carnival and Brain Olympia competitions are perfect examples of this.
At St Patrick's, we have an exceptional number of students who not only qualify for these competitive events but are also consistently represented in the final stages. We may not always bring home the first-place trophy, but you can be sure that our students are there, giving it their all. They show up, ready to compete, and that is a testament to the dedication of our students and their families.
This willingness to participate, to be in the mix and do their best, is a defining trait of our students. They embody a confidence and zest for life that comes from putting in the hard work and having the unwavering support of their parents. It's this collective effort, the grit and determination of every single student who competes, that truly makes me proud to be part of the St Patrick's community.
Diocesan Athletics Carnival
The Armidale Diocesan Athletics Carnival was held in Tamworth on Tuesday, on what was a beautiful, warm and sunny day. As usual our athletes outdid themselves with Jess, Josie, Shaun, Grace S, Benji, Lucy & Archer achieving selection to compete in the Armidale Diocesan team at the Polding Athletics Carnival in Glendale.
All students gave their best and we are proud of their efforts and the manner in which they conducted themselves. A huge thanks to Dallas and Karen Rizzi for managing the team on the day. (Photos are in the sport section)
Brain Olympia
The St Patrick's team competed in the Brain Olympia Tamworth Cluster on Monday. From all reports it was a fantastic day with our eight brain athletes (Jess P-K, Indie Powell, Claire Williams, Kiara Robinson, Benji Provost, Hannah Marchant, Lachie Partridge and Audrey Curtis) competing against other local schools in five rounds of ten questions, covering a range of subjects including Science, English, HSIE, Famous People/Places, and Current Affairs.
Our team worked together and were leading the small school's section of the competition right up until the drama event. Needless to say, we came second and NIDA may not come calling any time soon.
A huge thanks to Dallas and Karina Partridge for giving up their day to transport our students and add to the fun of the day.
Once again... so proud!
School Audit
A team from the Armidale Catholic Schools Office will be visiting our school to conduct a comprehensive review on Thursday August 28th.
This audit is a regular process, occurring every five years, and is crucial for ensuring we maintain best practice across all areas of the school. The team will be checking our adherence to various school operations, including our academic programs and our compliance with all school policies and procedures.
The insights gained from this audit are invaluable in helping us to continuously improve and ensure we are providing the best possible learning environment for your children.
Weekday and School Masses
As previously communicated, Father Anthony is taking time to care for his elderly mother, who continues to experience ill health.
During his absence, there will be no weekday or school masses. However, a visiting priest from Armidale will be celebrating weekend masses.
We extend our heartfelt well wishes to Father Anthony and his mum, and we'll keep them both in our prayers.
Lexus Melbourne Cup Visits St Patrick's School!
As you are no doubt aware, the Lexus Melbourne Cup will be visiting our school for a special presentation by representatives from Victorian Racing on Friday the 15th August.
To mark this momentous occasion, students will showcase their creativity by decking themselves out in their best school-constructed racing millinery! (A big thank you to Elyce Laurie for her creativity and initiative in this regard)
Important Information Regarding the Street Parade:

However, students who wish to participate in the street pararde under the St Patrick's school banner with the principal are welcome to do so, provided they have been signed out of school by their parents for this purpose.
