Last Thursday, our Year 12 Gold Optimus Award recipients and their parents came together to celebrate the outstanding Unit 3 academic achievements of these students at the Annual Optimus Breakfast. We also welcome our 2021 Year 5-11 Dux and Proxime Accessit recipients to this significant academic event. This year, the Governor of Queensland, Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeannette Young AC PSM, addressed the gathering outlining the importance of acting as our College motto states, ‘courageously’ as to be grateful for the wonderful opportunities and support our College and most importantly, our families offer us. Alongside Mr Newman (Head of College) and Mr Mark Elliot (Regional Direct for Marist Schools Australia), Her Excellency presented the boys with their Gold Optimus Awards. Congratulations to all Year 12 Gold Optimus Awards on outstanding Unit 3 results.

The online subject selection link has been emailed to all Year 10 students. The link which was being sent from 'web preferences', will be active until 9:00pm tomorrow evening (Wednesday 15 June). Before this time, boys are to log in and add their study preferences (6 subjects and one reserve option).
A reminder that boys should generally be enrolled in subjects now that they are wishing to study in Year 11 and 12 e.g. if they are wanting to study Geography in senior it should be on their current timetable. This allows them to develop their skills and some basic knowledge before they commence their Unit 1 work in 2023.

The Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability (NCCD) takes place every year.
The NCCD is a collection that counts:
Students are counted in the NCCD if they receive ongoing adjustments at school due to disability. This ‘help’ allows them to access education on the same basis as a child without disability. The NCCD uses the definition of disability in the Disability Discrimination Act 1992.
Schools provide this information to education authorities.
