ROCHESTER BASKETBALL NEWS

CUT OFF DATE FOR REGISTRATION IS TODAY MAY 6th.This will allow the RBA to arrange teams, coaches and draws.

SEASON KICKS OFF THE WEEK OF 16th MAY

The season will be a 10-12 week season spread over Term two and Term three. 

We do not play school holidays and public holidays.

COMPETITION STRUCTURE AND NIGHTS

Weekly Monday – 2012, 2011, 2010, 2009, 2008

Weekly Tuesday – 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015

If your child is of a birth year that is listed twice the RBA will determine the best competition for your child to play.

RBA will determine teams.

SPECIAL NEW COMPETITION

RBA are aiming to trial a new competition this winter season.  It will be conducted as a fortnightly competition aimed at players born 2008, 2007, 2006 and 2005.  Games will be played fortnightly on a Monday night.  The game will be 30-minute halves with timeouts and substitutions allowed. 

This will commence on the 23rd May and teams will be announced on arrival of each game night.

GIRLS ONLY COMPETITION

RBA are asking if there are girls wanting to play a girls only competition to please fill out details via https://tinyurl.com/RBAfemale

An RBA committee member will be in contact to discuss further.

GAME TIMES 

We can only access the CVCC from 4pm onwards. We try to ensure the younger teams play early and are home at reasonable times.  Matches may start from approximately 4.30 with a 50-minute time slot in between.

Matches will be twenty-minute halves.

The junior age group may have some alterations once numbers are known.

COMMUNICATION

Teams will be announced on RBA Team App. 

Competition fixtures and structure will be listed on PlayHQ.  Play HQ is website only.

Further updates and team changes will be announced via Team App, Facebook and Instagram.  These can all be accessed via an app via App store or via the web.

BASKETBALL VICTORIA INSURANCE COST Player insurance fee of $26 for 12 months to Basketball Vic – you maybe asked to be paid if you are a new player or your insurance fees are due prior to the end of the season.

RBA SEASON FEES

Our weekly Junior Player competition registration fee is $75 per player for the season (family discount of 5% is offered for two or more children)

Our fortnightly Monday competition for older players is $50.

VENUE

All games are played at the CVCC located at Rochester Secondary College.
