Dear Parents and Friends,

Hope you have all had a lovely week.  It is certainly beginning to feel like autumn.

Eucharist

Last Saturday night we celebrated Eucharist with our Year 5 students, who had missed out on celebrating the Sacrament last year due to COVID. I was so proud of the way the students presented themselves to Fr Andrew and how well prepared they were not only by their current Year 5/6 teachers but also last year's 3/4 teachers. A special thank you to Angela, Suzie, Wendy M and Marylene (2020 teachers ) and Arch, Lauren, Heather and Annemarie (2021 teachers) and also Jodie who all prepared our children so well.

Easter Raffle

Thank you to all parents and students who have filled Tracey’s office with an abundance of Easter Eggs, Rabbits and other Easter necessities.

Our Foundation parents are coming in on Monday to wrap our eggs and bunnies ready for the Easter Raffle which will be drawn on Wednesday at 2.30pm just before the end of day pick up.  If you need more raffle tickets they are in the office with Tracey. Good luck and I hope I win one bunny at least!

Good luck

Good luck to Celine in Year 6 who is competing at the Regional Swimming Carnival on Monday.

Swimming program

Our swimming program for the Year 1-4’s finished yesterday. It was lovely to see the excited faces going down to swimming and also the children who weren’t as confident in the water having a go and feeling successful when they completed the lesson.  I went down and saw some 1/2's and 3/4's and their manners to the swim teachers, parent helpers and their own teacher was to be commended.

Thank you

Thank you to the families who have offered to drop our Enrolment flyers around the neighbouring streets and beyond. It just shows us what a wonderful and vibrant community we have.  We have had a great response to our flyer drop with many local families booking school tours.  We will contintue to offer tours to any interested families.

Mrs Sullivan's Healthy Lunchbox Competition

Thank you to all the children who submitted some fabulous photos of their healthy lunchboxes.  I will be announcing the winners tomorrow.

End of Term

Just a reminder that we finish Term 1 on Wednesday 31st March at 3.15pm. Staff have a school closure day on Thursday where they will be planning for Term 2.

Hot Cross Bun Fundraising Drive - LAST CHANCE TO ORDER

Our very good friends at Baker's Delight Mordialloc have offered us a Hot Cross Fundraiser for our school.  $2.00 from every order will be donated to St Brigid's.  There are four flavours of Hot Cross Buns available, Tradtional, Apple & Cinnamon, Choc Chip and Fruitless. Orders can be placed via CDFpay. Click here for the link and select the Social and Fundraising Tab.  Orders must be placed by 12 noon on Friday 26 of March and will be delivered to school on Tuesday 30th of March just in time for Easter.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you for the support you have given our teachers during Term 1. Even though we still have COVID restrictions and we are still in a state of emergency until the end of the year, just seeing parents coming in to help in the classroom, at cross country or swimming, it just lovely. It nearly feels like we are back to normal.

Take care, stay safe and enjoy the break with your family and friends.

Yours in partnership.
