Welcome to the Library for 2020
EBOOKS AND AUDIOBOOKS VIA SORA
Did you know that St Xavier’s students in Years 3-6 have access to thousands of eBooks and audiobooks via the Armidale Catholic Schools Office Digital Library?
The digital library is powered by a system called Overdrive. There are a number of apps associated with overdrive that allow convenient and easy to use access to eBooks and audiobooks.
The newest of these apps is called SORA, by Overdrive. Simply access the app store and search for Sora. Alternatively go to https://soraapp.com
Once in the app you will need to add our Library by searching for “Armidale Catholic Schools Office”.
The next step will be for your child to log in using their own personal username and password. Students should know their username as it is the first part of their school email address, however if they need reminding please ask them to come and see me in the library. Their password is simply the same password that they use to log in to their chromebooks every day at school.
The fabulous thing about SORA and the digital library is that it can be accessed from home and is available throughout the year, including during school holidays. This means access to thousands of eBooks and audiobooks at any time!

World Book Online
Did you know that St Xavier’s subscribes to World Book Online? What does this mean for you and your children?
World Book Online is a great place for students to explore the world around us in a safe and secure online environment. St Xavier’s students are exposed to World Book Online during their library lessons and are then encouraged to use World Book within the classroom as their first point of reference when conducting research.
World Book Online has thousands of information articles as well as eBooks and lots of interesting and educational games and puzzles.
All St Xavier’s families are welcome to log in to World Book Online and have a look around - just ask your children to help you if you are unsure! Simply follow the link and use the login ID and password listed below.
