Principals Message

Important Media Release from National Catholic Education

Dear Parents

We are in the midst of a very interesting time nationally and worldwide. Your children and their welfare and  learning remain our highest priority. There is so much information around and so many people have a variety of opinions on all matter of topics.

We will be guided by the Catholic Schools Office who are guided by the Health Authorities and Catholic Schools NSW, the Bishop’s Commision  each of whom work with the Premier and the Prime Minister.

Our teachers are currently working on the very best ways to help children continue to learn if schools are closed in the future. Technology provides us with a really great platform for interaction with our students. The use of Google Classroom is something we can access more so, if the children are at home. We have already put plans in place so if this was to happen the transition for learning would be smooth.

We have increased our cleaning contractors hours to be daily instead of twice a week. Soap dispensers in the toilets are checked daily. Please remind your children to wash their hands every time they go to the toilet. We are doing this regularly, but need your help to reinforce the message at home.

If there is a confirmed case of Coronavirus in Gunnedah the schools will be notified immediately. Kate Kenny who heads HR at the CSO is in daily contact with all health and government authorities.

If you have to isolate your children because of travel, health reasons etc we will provide work for the children. This week we are putting together packs for Infants students and all Primary students can access their Daily Slideshow by logging on to their google account. After next week students will  be asked to use Google Classroom to access work and “turn in” assignments.

For now, it is business as usual and we are intent on keeping school as normal as possible. Please chat to your children to reassure them, they are little but sometimes their worries are big.

Kind regards,

Jen Honner
