School Council News

School Council has had seven meetings so far this year. We look forward to our last meeting for the year in December where we will pour over the draft budget for 2022.

We also held a Special Council meeting as part of the Principal Selection process run by the Department of Education. As you know, Principal Paul Frye resigned from his head role at CSC and Simon Wood has been in the Acting Principal position. As of 15th October, the role of Principal at CSC was advertised for application. School Council is part of the Principal selection panel and we look forward to sharing the results as soon as possible.

In other news, we have been awarded a shade sail from the Victorian government, and this will be going in the new central area of the school to protect students from the sun when they are purchasing food from the canteen.

CSC is now one of the official places where you can drop off e-waste. Electronic waste refers to any item that has a plug, battery or power cord that’s no longer working. Being able to recycle e-waste is a way to divert it from landfill. Being an e-waste depository is a part of the sustainability and environment policy at CSC.

E-waste that can be dropped off at CSC must be able to fit into the collection unit. Big items will have to be taken to the Waste Transfer Station at either Castlemaine or Maldon and a fee applies.
