PLANET ARK SCHOOLS RECYCLE RIGHT CAMPAIGN

3rd of October to 11th November

Naranga School is registered for the Schools Recycle Right Campaign. Students will be involved in different activities during Sustainability to learn about the importance of recycling. Daily activities to Reduce, Reuse and Recycle items help to keep materials out of landfill.

This week, our Junior School inspected their classroom rubbish bins to see if their class put the right items in the bin. Students identified items such as wrappers, food scraps, paper and plastic and sorted rubbish into the paper recycling bin, soft plastics bin and food scrap bin. Junior Egan, Malcolm, Gray and Martin found that their rubbish bins were empty in no time, once the recycled items were removed and sorted.

Students viewed the journey that plastic containers, glass bottles, cans and paper go through to be recycled into new items. They took turns to match picture cards of items to their correct symbols.

Junior Egan and Martin coloured in and ticked pictures of items that go into the yellow recycling bin. Junior Gray and Malcolm enjoyed the National Geographic interactive game called Recycle Round Up where students had to collect items and put them into the correct bins before the time ran out to clean up the park. They enjoyed the Recycling song for kids by Boo Boo Gaga.

Great work Junior School!
