What's cooking?

Stage 5 Food Technology 

Food Technology students have continued to learn about food product development and how companies experiment with a variety of food items before the launch of a new product. This week students made and sampled an assortment of drinks with different bases. Students recorded their results and will use this information to create their own signature recipe.

A bit of fun this week everyone learned to make their own ice cream. It took a lot of arm power, but everyone managed to create some delicious ice cream in the end. 

Stephanie Alexander Garden

There have been a lot of things happening this past fortnight in the garden. Students picked, cleaned and wrapped the celery, beans, lettuce (3 varieties) and carrots. The chickens had a great feed with all of the fruit break bins and Food Tech scrap bins taken over. Year 4/5 helped with the weeding and planted their sunflower seeds for the competition. Year 2/3 planted a variety of other vegetables and prepared the garden beds for potatoes. A great effort by all primary students, it was lovely to spend a little time in the sunshine.
