OSHC at Marion

OSHC is open each weekday during school term for both Before School Care (7am-8:30am) and After School Care (3:15pm-6:15pm) and on Pupil Free/School Closure days (7am-6:15pm). 

 

Vacation Care operates during school holidays (7am-6:15pm) except for a two-week shutdown period over Christmas and New Year. At Marion OSHC we are committed to providing quality learning opportunities, delivered in a safe, secure and stimulating environment.

 

Children plan the weekly program and menu and help run activities including serving at snack time, quiz questions, games on the whiteboard at the start of the afternoon, mentoring younger students during activities, leading the group in gym games and outside play. Activities on offer at the program include Wii games, Nintendo Switch, movies, home-corner play area, art, craft, construction, cooking, science, sport on the tennis courts and oval, dress-ups, face-painting, box construction, colourings, drawing, nature play area behind OSHC and cubby building on the oval and sand pit play. Vacation care also offers these activities with the addition of Incursions at the centre and excursions away from the centre e.g. gaming day in the gym with the hire of PlayStation, x-boxes, virtual reality game and movie and several Nintendo switch machines, Farmer Darcy’s farm visit on the oval, a trip to WizBang by private bus for indoor glow in the dark minigolf, laser skirmish, indoor playground and dance mania in front of a giant screen with a disco ball.

 

Breakfast is a choice of cereal, toast and raisin toast along with milo is available every morning in Before School Care. In After School Care a snack is provided every afternoon and also includes a fruit and vegetable platter as well as a special snack e.g. pasta bake, rice cakes, chicken noodle soup. Pancakes. Vacation Care also provides breakfast and afternoon snack.

 

The children have programmed some activities for OSHC next week that include giant bubble blowing, a 100-pin bowling match on the Wii and cooking some healthy brownies.

Parents are welcome to offer suggestions for programming ideas and to participate on our OSHC committee which meets twice a term. Being a member of this committee gives families the opportunity to have even more input into the program and if anyone is interested in becoming involved, please come and speak to Guy or myself.

 

Most families are entitled for the Child Care Subsidy so please apply to Centrelink to see if you are eligible. Subsidy is applied to all fees including the additional ones for excursions and Incursions.

 

The following fees are without subsidy applied and are per child.
