Music news

Music lessons have kicked off to a fantastic start this year!

Junior classes have been working on using their body to keep a steady beat as well as listening for changes within music eg. Fast vs slow, loud vs soft and high vs low.

Here are some photos of students using a parachute to explore those elements of music.

Garden News

Grades 2, 4 and Foundation are participating in Gardening this term. We’ve been enjoying a summer harvest of pears, corn, grapes, zucchini, spaghetti squash, tomatoes, cucumbers and beans. The sunflowers are attracting many bees and beneficial insects.

Hopefully families have sighted the pumpkin growing near the corner of Van Ness and Hillside Ave.

Grade 5 students Emily, Sierra, Chiara, Nikki and Eleanor are managing Grade 4 chicken monitor training.

We would love to have the help of skilled parents or grandparents to repair the chicken coop, amend garden structures, preserve or cook produce, collect billing data and spread mulch.

Please volunteer by contacting the office or email aclarkson@scgleniris.catholic.edu.au
