Art and Science

Molly Cook

Recently in Art we have been exploring the colour wheel and colour theory. Students in Bottlebrush and Banksia have been learning about primary and complementary colours.

Bottlebrush are using this knowledge to paint and create a cityscape, while Banksia are making butterflies with a textured background.

The Sturt Desert Peas and Eucalyptus have been working on creating tints and tones. The Sturt Desert Peas have been creating their own colour wheels, which represent them.

While Eucalyptus have had the challenging task of creating a landscape painting using only three colours and their tints and tones.

In science Bottlebrush are learning about plants and what they need to stay healthy, at the moment we are experimenting with different ways to look after seeds. In Banksia we are learning about different dinosaurs and how they survived.

We're currently exploring the skeletons of Triceratops, Brachiosaurus and the Tyrannosaurus! In Sturt Desert Peas we have been sorting and exploring living and nonliving objects and will be focusing on Carnivorous Plants for the remainder of the term.

Finally Eucalyptus are exploring the Desert and different ways in which animals and plants learn to survive in the extreme heat!
