Eucalyptus Update

Molly Ingram

This semester, Eucalyptus has been writing persuasive, short stories and writing about the texts they have been reading throughout the semester. In Reading, we have been focusing on Paul Jennings, reading, and analysing his short stories as well as reading one of his books during eating times. In Maths, students have been learning to display and analyse data using a range of graphs, as well as learning about algebraic equations and solving for an unknown value, represented as ‘x’. Most recently we have been learning about different units of measurement and exploring different formulas to work out the area and perimeter of different shapes, such as A = length x width and A = π r².

Eucalyptus have enjoyed a range of excursions this semester, including visiting Parliament House as an introduction to our unit of Inquiry in which we explored civics and citizenship in action during the election period. We hope the students have a wonderful holiday and we look forward to seeing them all after the break.
