Sturt Desert Peas Update

Rhiannon Brolly

This semester, Sturt Desert Peas have been writing persuasive, realistic fiction and learning to write letters about their favourite books and authors. In Reading, students have been focusing on Roald Dahl and have been using strategies such a summarising, analysing, and predicting as they explore different books such as Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Matilda.

In Maths, students learnt how to construct 3D Shapes, use different strategies to solve addition and subtraction problems as well understanding Place Value - ie 216 can be renamed to 2 hundreds, 1 ten and 6 ones.

Sturt Desert Peas have enjoyed participating in different excursions such as the Immigration Muesum and Quantum. During P.E, students worked hard to understand and learn Taekwondo.

In semester Two, I look forward to taking students on more excursions where they can demonstrate their interest to learn new things.
