Happy Term 3 

Dear Families, Students and School Community of CSC,

Acknowledgement and promotion of our school values of Respect, Responsibility, 

Achievement and Community is a key feature of our dreams for our students; in addition to the new exciting Merit outlook, we acknowledge and honour the achievements of our cohort, in the form of DISTINCTIONS each term, and Term 3 of 2022 was outstanding.

What if I were to say that no less than 692 DISTINCTIONS have been issued out this term alone. More excitedly I am pleased to announce as of the 9th day of the 9th Month of the 9th Week of Term 3 that we have EVERY YEAR LEVEL once again from 7 to 12 has had at least one or more students who earned 3 or more Distinction Nominations!!!

I would like to acknowledge that despite difficulties this term, the staff have been on the lookout to encourage and promote positivity and merits of students, resulting in the reward of Distinction Nominations. This term has seen a Distinction Bonanza in which all staff have promoted as many Distinctions as they wished for the efforts the students made in online classes, this generated outstanding results.

Thus, with great pride and honour I would like to mention the breakdown of Distinctions, with the Year 8s this term alone in the lead with 179 DISTINCTION NOMINATIONS, followed by our Year 9 cohort with 141 Distinction Nominations. Not too far away are the Year 11s with a respectable 3rd place of 103 Distinctions earned!

Year 7: 81 Distinctions

Year 8: 179 Distinctions

Year 9: 141 Distinctions

Year 10: 96 Distinctions

Year 11: 103 Distinctions 

Year 12: 89 Distinctions

I am most pleased to announce and commemorate the students of each year level who achieved top honours of 4 Distinctions or more: 

Year 8: Fadi Ghareeb, Imogen Peters, and Sienna Plenzich of 8B, Moayid Abushkewat and Norell Elia of 8C, and Abdullah ABDUL KADOM of 8G

Year 9: Brendan Toma of 9B, Abdi Mohammed and Laurence Joseph of 9F, Laverna Toma, Sida Isimtekin and Valantina Hirmiz of 9H 

Year 10: Tillie Seddon of 10C and Madison Tornatore of 10H

Year 12: Chloe McCaullay of 12D 

In particular, of outstanding special mention for this term are Gorgina Slaiwa of 8C and Nadhan Poovanchery of 10A each of whom scored 6 Distinctions! 

In summary, congratulations and massive commendations to our staff and students for their achievements in the THIRD Term in 2022; overall the 692 is a climb from the 617 Distinctions of Term 2.  The CSC community hopes to see a greater input in Term 4 and as 2022 rolls on.
