Thank you to all those parents and carers who have worked with us during drop off and dismissal times as well as to adhere to social distancing requirements which are also still in place. Our school’s priority is the safety of our students and this has been working well in partnership with you all.
The City of Casey has installed new parking signs outside the school on Endeavour Drive. Please ensure you adhere to the signage information as we have been told that parking inspectors may be randomly visiting the area. The purpose of the parking limits is to ease congestion and keep the traffic flowing. Please ensure drivers move to the furthest point along the front of the school, between the pedestrian crossing and the staff carpark gate, as a quick pick up or drop off. Remain in your car if you can or at the very least, stay outside your vehicle and students will be accompanied to you or sent to you once we make contact with you, which may be through a simple wave. Students will not be independently crossing the road unless it is via the school crossing.
We would like to continue to remind parents and carers to drive carefully outside our school and observe the speed limit and road rules such as no uturns in front of the school, or turning into driveways to turn, as well as the use of the pedestrian crossing rather than running across the road. This also applies for Mitchell Court drop off and pick up. Please drive to the end of the court to assist with traffic flow.
If it is inclement weather at the end of the day, students whose family names begin with A-K, will now go to the Hall Main Foyer and teachers will bring them to the gates at Endeavour Drive. For those students whose surnames begin with L-Z, they will remain in the Hall Side Foyer (facing the oval), then escorted by teachers to the Mitchell Court Gate. Those students who attend after school care will be supervised and remain under the canteen shelter until they are picked up by Merinda Park Community Centre personnel.
