Football

Our Open Girls, U14 & U16 Boys, participated in the Alan Tongue 10’s League Tag & Tackle Day at UNE. The competition involved over 250 kids from 6 different schools.

Our girls, with a number of younger players, improved with each game and finished the day with a great win over Uralla.

Both boys teams were minus a few players so these individuals spent the day in the College sin bin, instead of running around the footy field. As a result, the 14’s had a number of 13’s playing up against much bigger and physical opposition. The lads did a great job finishing the day with a draw & some narrow losses.

The 16’s played some entertaining free flowing league, moving the ball across the field after the hard yards had been done up the middle. They finished with four wins & a narrow loss, so have now qualified to compete in the Regional Finals Day, at Scully Park, Tamworth, on May 8. Good luck boys!

Athletics

Congratulations to Brooke Newberry for finishing 7th at the Australian Junior Championships! Absolutely amazing achievement.

Pony Club

This past weekend Skye and Amber Press competed Pony Club State Sporting Championships in Merriwa.

Both girls rode particularly well and Amber came 3rd overall in the under 13 years age group! Amber and her two team mates also won reserved champions in the team penning event!

Fabulous job girls it’s always wonderful to be able to share our student’s achievements!
